  • ABV: 13.5%. Notes of herbs and spice immediately jump out of the glass, surrounded by a core of rhubarb, pomegranate, and black cherries. The acidity is well-integrated on the palate, lifting the fruit and keeping everything lively. There's also an umami profile that lingers on the lengthy finish. I initially rated this wine around the low 90s (90-91), but kept raising it by a point here and there as it kept opening up over the past 3 hours. This wine will easily cellar for another 5 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if it stays intact for another decade.

1/26/2022 - Impressive! Raised the rating by two points since it showed even better on day two. All the characteristics of this wine have melded together, giving off a cherry cola profile that's reminiscent of some of the Willamette Valley Pinots that I've had. The mouthfeel is soft and elegant, and the herbs, spice, and fruits are even more harmonized. With the way this wine is holding up after being opened for 24 hours, it will easily cellar until 2029.

  • If you see it, buy it. If you have it, hold it. Or drink it becasue it is pretty damn good. I remember reading an article Jimmy Laube wrote a couple of years ago describing the 2009 California Pinot Noir might one of the best vintages in recent years or even longer. When you drink a wine like this it all makes sense. Light, bright and ripe. Very easy to drink. Classic California fruit forward style.

  • We received this bottle in a recent club shipment. Somewhat surprised. Almost 2 years ago we tasted this wine. But on to the review: still a nice wine. Definitely towards the end of its window. Lost brightness, and acidity has rounded out. Still a great nose. Intensity has dissipated. No finish. Hurry, drink now!!

  • took about 45 minutes to open and when revealed got some nice berry notes, graham cracker on the nose and a pleasing smoothness. started fading after about 3 hours so perhaps good idea to drink now.

  • Nice nose on opening which diminishes as the bottle is consumed. Mixed berry notes from start through finish. Slightly tart as tannins have mellowed. Very nice with pork entree.
