Age is this bottle's friend. Last of these for me, and the best was saved for last. Very strong Bordeaux style, well balanced, tannins are still strong and the flavors are still primary but developing. I think these can go a lot longer yet.

My first Calif verdot. Good, but not great bottle. I drank it over a few hours, started strong, got stronger, but after 3-4 hours, it seemed like it lost something.Reasonably rich. Interesting to taste the grape on its own.

Popped and followed for a few hours open. Dark ruby, 85% saturated with medium clear legs. Tiny amount of sediment. I get buttery pecan on the first whiff of the nose, followed by toast, bramble, cigar, dark chocolate, and then some thick floras like carnation, camellia, and jasmine. Bouquet is subtle, but very distinct and mesmerizing. Mouthfeel is full and round, which sets a great foundation for the heady flavors of this varietal. It has ultra-soft tannins and a generous acidic charge on the back end. Almost Brunello-ish, but this has a very unique palette of components making up the profile. Elegant, long finish that is indicative of high quality. Really nicely done. 5+12+17+8 = 92

Better with food. Fruit really came out when paired with meat dishes, both BBQ chicken and a beef and mushroom pie.
