This 2008 Dead Horse has died. I'm bummed as it has been hiding in my cellar for 10 years. Another reminder to never wait for the "perfect occasion" to drink a good bottle of wine because it never comes. You see it? You want it? its within the drink window? Then drink it.

Going on 11 years this wine does not disappoint. Pnp at restaurant and still has the red mountain power on the nose and palate. Deep concentrated flavor of earth, tar and subdued yet integrated dark ripe fruit. Nice fine tannins on mid palate and finish.

Regal. It’s held up. Pale garnet with soft bricking. Truffle on nose. Dried cranberries, leather. Time to drink up. Enjoy.

Well past it’s prime unfortunately. Tannins and fruit have died with nothing interesting left behind.
