Very disappointing. Lush dark color, but strange herbal nose with a whiff of Play-Doh (I swear). A good deal of dark fruit, but very astringent tannins and some bitter flavors that seem out of place. A little heat at midpalate. Little or no oak. Does not taste like a Bordeaux at all. Decent mouthfeel and a clean finish, but just seems all out of balance and lacking any charm at all. I don't think this will improve with further aging. Give this a pass.
Exceptional value out of Bordeaux. Ripe plums and cassis, accompanied by secondary notes of tar, tobacco and licorice. Relatively long, satisfying finish. This really show off the depth of the 2009 vintage and I would highly recommend.
