  • Henschke Heritage tasting with Paul Boothby (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): Yellow gold colour with a very concentrated honey and candied tropical fruit nose with limes and faint petroleum characteristics. The palette is very fresh with a very young acid and fruit profile but with aged straw and kerosene characteristics in the mix as well which give way to a cutting minerality that goes all the way to the finish.

  • Clear, pale straw core with a large green tinge. Wine appears youthful.
On the nose this wine is bursting with fresh plastic/petrol notes.Bright lemon-lime is matched well with bold flintyness and green apple.
The palate is dry. light spritz that fades with a few minutes. Forward apple, pear, peach fruits are heavy in the mouth with a zippy high acidity. petrol/plastic notes and flint are very obvious but pair well with the fruit structure. Medium + body, this wine really has some weight. moderate alc, and a long finish of citrus and green apple mingled with minerality.
    Outstanding quality.
Drinking well now but should benefit from aging. Drink or hold 2008 - 2020.

  • This wine is filled with green apple, limestone, chalk and refreshingly searing acidity. Very well balanced, with ample crisp fruit to balance the acidity, this wine finishes bone dry. A hint of petrol emerged as the wine opened which added further complexity. This is surprisingly youthful tasting and its balance makes it one of the best Aussie rieslings I have tasted.

  • Delicious. Opened 2 nights ago, very tight and mineral driven. Tonight this wine exhibits, tart green apple aromas, steely, minerally components as well...on the palate this wine is vervy, talc-like, steely, delcious mineral driven wine. Truly showing exceptionally tonight. I am interested to see where this goes in 5+.
