  • Delicious, compelling Amontillado, although not as good as the Alvear Carlos VII I compared it to. Huge value for a 750ml, good, dry Amontillado, correct. No unpleasant anise notes, nor impurity; just pretty good: salinity, acidity, fig aromas, a little leather perhaps; a fine medley. Not sure price was right, I paid $15 retail, which I think is a mistake. If not, well great value for a good dry Amontillado of this calibre. Unblended from the estate of Bodega San Vidal.

  • Anita: Opened this for dessert! Very dry; cry earthy caramel, elegant, nutty, but classic sherry, bitter but soft, nice med. amber color; nutty, slaty, just a touch of burnt caramel and fish scales and salted nuts. Had a hard time w/this for dessert; Bri loved it w/the apicot tart. must try for appetizer.
