The first of my 08 and a pleasent surprise. Dark color with mocca , grafit and tobacco in the nose. Young but to be drunk from now and several years ahead. We had it with Le Serre Nuove 08 and the Serre did it better , but still a good wine and nice price ( in DK : 26 € )
Yum. Still a baby, but opened up after 1-2 hours. Rich and deep with nice acidity. Gots the stuffing to last a long time, but why wait? Enjoyed with friends with Bruins Stanley Cup game in background outside a Soccer Bar. What could be better?
Kings of Tuscan Wine (Wine World, Seattle, WA): Really nice nose, though you can tell there was a lot of [expensive] oak on this one. Big tannins, still with some rough edges. Good weight with some fruit showing through the oak. Definitely lower in acid compared to the Brunellos. Good balance right now, though overall this is still quite young.
