  • Much improved from previous bottle a few years ago. Fruit seems to be on the way out but loads of leather, earth, and funk really up the complexity. Great texture and length on the finish.

  • continues to drink well. Opened, but did not decant, 1 hour before dinner. Brownish red color with slight clear meniscus. On nose, tobacco, sweet cherry, strawberry, menthol and earthy notes. On palate, medium body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and long finish. Palate profile consistent with nose - wine is in a really good place but this is my last of 4 bottles. Would buy again. 93+/-

  • This bottle was past it's prime.

  • Poured a big glass with the Coravin to have with Bucatini all’ Amitraciana.
The good acidity made this a great pairing with the strong pancetta flavours.
Needed a good hour in glass to open up the flavours in the wine. Delicious

  • Prior bottle was almost a year ago and this wine remains in a very good spot. Black cherry and black raspberry on the nose, along with earth, light spices and a touch of leather. Nose remains very blackfruit based and quite aromatic. Between medium and full bodied with black cherry and black raspberry again the dominant fruit notes. Upfront, these fruit notes have a round openness with just a bit of brightness, leaving the wine feeling youthful, but expressive. Mid-body has excellent depth and density, adding touch of darker plum and then tart black cherry with just a slight hint of tart red cherry on the backside. Mid-body is the star of the showing purity of fruit with true silky elegance. Transition to the finish was seamless, showing fine grained tannins, lingering mineral qualities and plus blackfruit elements. This wine was simply in a great spot tonight; a beautiful harmony of flavors, depth and elegance. Really pleased that my final bottle showed this well (I will look for more) and given what it showed tonight, should be able to hold this level for another couple of years easily.
