2nd bottle of 2 and flawed in the same way as the 1st. Nose is just unpleasant and tipping towards the green/rotten side. Loved this wine at the tasting room back in 2011, so not sure exactly what happened.
Timid to start. Finish short 84. Faint, but fairly refined, but missing the stuffing. Day 2 not much better. Day10, left if fridge with stopper. Nearly forgot about it. Boy did this need time to open up! Apple, stone fruit, lemon rind, with a touch of fennel and butter. Finish moderate, balanced.
I've generally not been impressed with the Jimsomere and Mikulaco Chards from Ridge, but I really enjoyed this at a tasting and bought a couple bottles. Unfortunately, this bottle did not match what I tasted at the winery and generally seemed off, though I did not pick up any specific flaw. Leaving unrated and will check the other bottle relatively soon.
