Decanted for 2 hours. Cork was perfect as was the fill. Color with a touch of orange and light bricking but the sweet red fruit tannins on the nose were omnipresent on the palate from start to finish. Long and silky. So sweet but elegant and weightless. Nearly a 1 minute finish. Touches of sweet Oak.

WCC Barolo and Barbaresco Dinner (The Chef's Table at Cafe Capriccio, Albany, NY): [Double-decanted around 11am.] Sweet cherry nose. The fruit is so sweet in the nose and the palate, yet there is a delicateness to the texture and flavor. Subtle complex, long finish. Goes on and on. Just gorgeous. Classic Barolo from the Barolo/La Morra side of the zone. Day 2: Thicker, darker. Loads of dark red fruit. Long ethereal finish.

(Bartolo Mascarello Barolo) Heaven in a glass. Nose of cherries, caramel, wet road tar, roses, spices and lots of wet earth. Beautiful purity and concentration with incredible concentration and richness. Wow what sweetness and delineation. Sweet and ripe tannins. Absolutely a stunner.

This tasted completely over the hill. Metallic aftertaste, nearly DOA.

La Festa del Barolo: Rare Wine Dinner - Bartolo Mascarello (Legacy Records): From a magnum. Nice style of wine. Darker fruits. A bit more of the leather and tannins and very much present with the secondary and maybe even getting into some tertiary notes. Still a lovely wine.
