  • Notes after following for a few hours open. Medium ruby color with a light rust starting to show at the edge and a very light haze to the body. Profound nose of cherry and pomegranate jam with bright green herbs and maple. Maybe the highest acidity I've ever perceived in a wine, but it's the awesome contrast between sweetness and sourness that make it very enjoyable to this taster. For sure, it displays both grape and place brilliantly. I last tried this two years ago and it has only barely budged along the development scale so there is no hurry to open. I wish I still had a few, and to those of you holding more: I'm envious. A very fun and interesting wine. Pretty amazing how good it is now compared to three years ago. 4+12+16+8= 90

  • Definitely needs air. Open it and drink it the next day. Not at its best just opened.

  • Ahhh.... so much better than a year ago. The freshest and most interesting wine I've had of late. Still has the nice tart flavor but it stretches out much longer and has more texture to blend with the acidity. I so wish this was my first and not my fifth bottle. 5+10+15+8=88

  • More than 70's less than 80's. I completely agree about tart cherries and cranberries. I get the green. I have a hard time believing that this is going anywhere. I certainly won't be drinking the other any time soon. I might take it out of the cellar to make room for something else. I'll be interested to see where this goes but will approach it with trepidation in a year or 2 or 3 or more. There will be a backup on hand. (There's an open/recorked bottle on the counter and I'll revisit it over the weekend)

  • I still have not learned my lesson about keeping my hands off of these. One more year minimum for this to get anywhere near it's true colors. After 4 days open in the pantry, the final 2 glasses were sensational. The tartness resolved into a smooth and graceful elixir and the bouquet blossomed out to allow a whole bunch of new flavors to emerge.
    Hold, hold, hold!
