  • I'd been eager to try this wine again since it last knocked my socks off . Plus I wanted to give it a more objective opinion the second time around (i.e., sober). Nose of plum, cherry and black fruit. Full-bodied and plush but unbalanced. Tannic and ever so slightly alcoholic with hints of cedar on the end. Amazing off-the-charts glycerin content with a long finish. This wine is smooth like ball bearings.. Despite not having the impressions of the last TN this is still a great wine and while not rated the highest, it remains one of my personal faves. I can't wait to compare to the 2002!

  • Opened this last night after a rather disappointing Barolo (Damilano '01). Bouquet is sweet with aromas of fruit and cherries. The real pleasure is in the taste, an almost unreal silky mouthfeel with endless amounts of fruit and a long long finish. Mellow tannins with amazing integration and structure. An excellent wine even by itself!
