Bright yellow color. Aromas of pear, peach, honeysuckle and wood spices. Ripe, thick fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and a long, lingering, complex finish. Intense and full on the palate. This remarkable Chardonnay was truly delicious and outstanding at 11 years of age.

Decanted and consumed over an hour and a half. The wine was deep amber, with a very complex nose of toasted caramel, fresh brioche, ripe pear, and candied lemon. It’s texture is best described as “unctuous“ and flavors of key lime, pear, brown butter, and smoky honey rolled over the palate. It was structured beautifully, with a backbone of clean acidity that lasted all the way through the finish. A truly delicious wine....

A beautiful bottle of chardonnay served with a platter of sushi. White flowers on the nose. The palate was peach, lemon curd, spring flowers and the right of oak to keep it all in balance.

Unlike some other recent single vineyard Kistler bottlings from 2009, this was still full, delicious, balanced and lush with pineapples and apricots.

Amber color, honey, lime and pear on the palate, wonderfully round and smooth finish, great example of an aged Carneros Chardonnay.
