Tasting Some Whites at Clarksburg Wine Company (Clarksburg, CA): Aromas of lemon zest, lime, white peach and a hint of herbs. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, with soft acid. Lots of white peach and green melon combines with some waxy, honeyed tones. A quality blend. I like these Clarksburg Chenin Blanc-Viognier blends, and this one's pretty good.

Soft wine with full body and the impression of sweetness in the peach and orange blossom aromas and flavors. Not enough acidity to keep the flavors going through the finish, but still tasty. Good with curries and other spicy food in place of Gewurz or a Riesling. Received sample for possible review.

To start, viognier is the best wine to smell; however it can be a bit flabby on the palate. This wine comes close to a very good fix. There is still the beautiful floral bouquet as expected from viognier and updated with some bright acid, citrus and mineral - albeit just a tad heavy. The palate is nearly straight forward viognier with lavendar, rose and herbals. The chenin blanc (assumed aged in stainless) perks up viognier's flabbiness and throws in some nice lemon and sun heated river rocks. The palate is all lemon and almost puckeringly so. Nicely done but the finish is the detractor.
