Second tasting after a month of the wine sitting upright in the fridge. A slight evolution and improvement or just a better day for us and thus the improvement in score? Medium full of character, lively and albeit has good acidity it did not feel harsh and sharp. Pretty solid and as always indestructible wine. 91-92
Consistent with my previous bottle. Quite fragrant, easy to smell as soon as the cork is pulled. Citric, with sharp lemon and lime flavors, a hint of VA, and a savory herbal infused caramel note. Good length. Stellar stuff here. This displays more trebal notes rather than bass. Precise and edgey.
A wine once belonging to the Favilla Vieira family; guessed to be about 40-50 years old. Popped and poured. A wine that made me smile from the first whiff. Tart, citric and focused. Dried peaches, lemons, and nut skin; hints of burnt sugar. Tangy, savory and mouthwatering; excellent length. Not heavily torrefacted, but light, fresh and zippy with a haunting cling... wonderful Madeira with fabulous laser-like focus. I can't wait to follow this over the next few days.
