PNP. cork wet 1/4 way up but sound. color light gold. nose shows lemon and grapefruit with minerality and even some cotton candy notes. swishing allows the acids to peek out, but they seem mellowed by the fruit density and some RS. finish goes citrus and med long. sipping gives a little more sense of RS, but it comes off as super light no doubt from the underlying acidity. the previously described "sizzle" has gone. this is the best Selbach Saar I have tasted so far, and in very good drinking shape right now. thank god other bottles are elsewhere because this will be hard to resist.

Popped and poured. Color light. Nose started with a slight metallic twang that quickly blew off to show white fruits including lychee and grapefruit. Palate sizzles with bright fruit and acid and good RS. Decent length. A good value

(J&H Selbach Saar Riesling Spätlese) ($20.00) Attractive grapefruity aromas, angular and tangy; salty mid-palate; the usual ’10 density and length makes this seem drier than ’08 or ’09; nice and quince-y and granny smith appley; a more earnest if less frisky wine in this vintage.
