An absolutely wonderful wine, still quite alive, integrated and balanced. No rush to drink any of my Littorai chardonnays. I'll defer to KL1191's much fuller and evocative comments on this wine.

Tasted alongside the 2001. Rich golden color. Aroma of toffee, passion fruit, honeydew melon. Medium fruit, medium-plus acidity. Oak is fully integrated, minimal perceptible tannin. Full bodied, with citrus on the entry, mostly lime zest, evolving into butterscotch/crème brûlée. A faint hint of toasted oak, and some salinity on the long finish. Has held up very nicely, but if I had any more I would drink them soon.

14.2% alcohol. i'm happy to eat a little crow regarding comments about aged chard in my last TN about this wine, as tonight it is nothing short of sensational. the color displays very little evolution. lovely, fluid fruit, completely integrated oak, good minerality, but with enough california spunk to be deliciously domestic. obviously, this wine has aged magnificently, and i regret that this is my last bottle from the 2000 vintage. stunning.
