Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 90 points

  • A hedonistic and seductive bottle. Has room for further refinement but why the hell do I care. I drank this with the love of my life and it deserves a 100 points if I weren’t that anal about quality. Betting my money that this will taste a ton better 5-10 years later.

P.S. a useless tasting note to you all…

  • Medium crimson color with initial hints of bricking. Consistent with my prior note, the nose has ample floral aromas of lavender and rose, with toasted herbal scents. On the palate, this has a ferrous quality of rusty nails or blood. Still plenty of firm acid and a long, mineral-driven finish. I had intended to keep my hands off this for a few years, but couldn't help myself. It's very nice now and should remain so for a while.

  • Medium garnet color. This has a nose of very ripe tomatoes, accented by a strong floral perfume and dried tobacco aromas. The palate has an expressive woody and fruity flavor; I want to say "forest berries," but I've never had any. This has a peristent finish with steady acidity, a lingering note of stone, and woody tannins. Solid (especially considering this is not a classified vineyard), but could use a few more years to let the edges round off.

  • smell of mushrooms, earth, barnyard and a touch of leather. on the palate there are lots of red tart fruit with boysenberry and raspberry. structure is still in place and tannins are present that it makes for a great food wine. medium bodied with lots of spice makes you really feel the age of the vines with every sip. long finish that gives hints of tea leaves and orange peel. complex with secondary and tertiary flavors makes this a very intellectual wine. can still go a few more year in my opinion.
