Filippo's Farewell Dinner (La Trompette, Chiswick): A touch closed initially, opening out quite quickly to reveal dark fruit, a touch of meatiness, then some liquorice. Medium/full bodied, soft tannins, balanced acidity, finishes a touch short but very enjoyable nonetheless. ***1/2

A very interesting wine. The nose was stinky and full of barnyard funk. This blew off a little bit and it got sweeter with Rose petals and spices over time. However, the forest floor notes were very strong. The palate was bright and lively with roses and spice along with other red and dark fruit. Medium depth and finish

(Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin) Exotic and spicey nose with incredibly focused fruit aromas. Great concentration and depth with very clearly defined blueberry and boysenberry fruit. Sappy and extracted with a somewhat wild berry melange on the finish and a lingering hint of minerality. True Grand Cru stuff.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Wow, excellent showing here. Complex nose of rose petals, raspberry. Lovely.

Thin and dry. Perhaps a bottle issue, although no clear flaw.
