Bubbles 2014; 11/15/2014-12/19/2014 (Home): Classic truffles and buttery apples. Meursault with tension. Excellent. Unmistakably chardonnay. Went excellently with Trappe Échourgnac (a cheese finished with liquor made from chestnuts) and even better with brie aux truffes.

(Vilmart & Cie Champagne Grand Cellier d'Or) From magnum - light yellow color with abundant, steady, tiny bubbles; lightly savory, tart apple, pear, yeasty nose; tasty, poised, tart pear, mineral, tart peach, chalk palate; long finish (disgorged Feb. 2012) 93+ points
(Vilmart & Cie "Cuvée Grand Cellier d’Or" Brut) ($97.00) Available later this year, so we may have a gap between vintages here. It’s 80PN/20CH as always. Though we have to wait, it seems quite ready. Has all the deep reverb of ’06, and a wonderful apple-butter and clove-like spicy “sweetness;” completely open and sanguine despite 2/11 disgorgement. A chubby happy baby. Hints of espresso, cocoa bean and sandalwood.
