Medium gold-orange. Nose is a bit dollop of Zeltinger chili peppers and spices, along with some tangerine and orange peel, honey, candied orange. Peaches and apricots. Warm and golden with good zest and energy. Palate is deep and golden and rich with some peach, honey, spices, a little tangerine. Good balance but not as much zing or acid as I really would want. The finish is tasty and spicy wiht some peach and tangerine but doesn’t quite have the grip. Still delicious but a bit disappointing. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5-5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi 1/2 = 15.5-16.5/20.

From 375. This is in a very nice place with an array of tropical fruits on the nose and a deep and complex palate. Quite rich and bordering on sweet but with a decent amount of acidity to offset it. Pretty amazing stuff and should work with spicy Chinese or Indian dishes.

Yellow. Slightly spritzy. Ripe yellow apple, rising honey, and a top note of citrus peel. Rich fruit and vanilla bean flavors. Fairly full for Mosel Auslese, not that much acidity for a 2001 but an excellent core of slate kicks in. It could use more tension, but this is a delightful drink now. It doesn't seem to be one for the ages.

Still so pure and linear at this point, with lovely aromatics and superb cut on the palate. Doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast!
