$20 buys you a bush league example of a 1990, but a value nonetheless. You pretty much get what you pay for with this wine: bouncy in acidity, with lemon and olive flavors and a little honey. Grecian set of flavors that somewhat missed the mark and ended up coming across less fruity and more funky. A little too austere for my tastes for a Spat.

It's been a while since I've had a German Riesling and this bottle reminded me of what I have been missing. Beautiful rich gold colour that reflects its 22 years of age, lovely oily, lemon, citrus nose followed by a typical oily, smooth, long lasting finish of lemon, lime but mostly delicious honey. It may not be a stunner but still a good example German riesling which I love so much.

Very interesting wine. Smells of petrol and funk, but not in a bad way -- hard to explain. Definite funk on palate with tart lemon peel, apricot, and minerals. Pretty good. I wouldn't wait any longer to drink this. It's old and not getting any younger. This guy won't hold much longer.
