Tasted by daver852 on 1/1/2010 & rated 91 points: Saved this wine for our New Year's Eve celebration. An excellent bottle of tasty Bordeaux. Lovely ruby color, fragrant, fruity nose. Medium-bodied, stylish wine with a hint of oak and peppery highlights. Good depth of flavor, excellent finish. Believe this to be a year or two away from full maturity, but it's drinking well. Worth the price tag. Recommended. (298 views)
Tasted by dssmith on 11/21/2009 & rated 85 points: This is the second wine of Chateau Haut Brion. It is adequate but not great. The bouquet was excellent -- a mix of alcohol and fruit. The fruit was fine but the tanins were a bit pronounced. In general this wine went nicely with dinner but I have had much better in its price range. (347 views)
Tasted by Edward A on 5/14/2009 & rated 92 points: Binny's Chateau Haut-Brion Seminar (Binny's South Loop, Chicago, IL): Medium garnet color. Lucious fruit on the nose. Spicy med-full bodied taste with nice long finish. Definitely drinkable now. (814 views)
Tasted by beezer6 on 5/14/2009 & rated 93 points: Chateau Haut-Brion Seminar (Binny's South Loop - Chicago, IL): Nice ripe red raspberries, red rose petals and cinnamon on the nose.
Huge length with nice acidity on the back end of the palate.
Showing excellent energy and grip now. A beautiful wine.
Preferred over the '06 and '04. (835 views)
Tasted by paulst on 2/22/2009 & rated 90 points: Silky smooth soft sweet deep tannins with cherry-blackberry. (1040 views)
Tasted by poptart_nyc on 12/25/2008 & rated 90 points: drinking very well right now with structure and ripeness in a pretty pas de deux. never a profound wine, but solid and worth its 50 dollars. bridges bordeaux and newer styles of cab--meant for food and pleasing diverse tastes. (1034 views)
Tasted by milwaukeewino on 9/13/2008: Nose is almost creamy and liqueur-like. Scents of crushed red and black fruit. Smells concentrated and rich.
Big and rich on the palate, too. Plenty of red fruit and even some somewhat jammy new world notes. Still Bordeaux but a very modern style. Long finish. Fine chewy well-integrated tannins - this is '03? Bright balanced acidity should keep this alive for a long time.
Black cherries. Love that finish! This is impressive.
Unreal value, esp. for the vintage. (1161 views)
Tasted by Griffin on 9/7/2008: No formal notes - I first tasted black current jam than I detected fresh blackberries at optimal ripeness. My impression is that this a a rather clean wine, and although this was a half-bottle it could still benefit from a little more age - according to my taste; but it does offer plenty of enjoyment now.  Tasted by Jwobkk on 8/12/2008 & rated 89 points: Very smooth and easy drinking. A bit tart on the finish but otherwise very fine. I would hold this longer before drinking it. (1177 views)
Tasted by rael007 on 6/7/2008 & rated 88 points: A solid wine. Very good with grilled leg of lamb. (1283 views)
Tasted by Erik of Sweden on 12/29/2007 & rated 89 points: took it out early and sure enough there was a fragrance not dissimilar to when trimming tulip stems over the kitchen sink at first. after five hours airing just in bottle, this had mostly dissipated. Still very fresh and tannic, but not so much as you would believe though, this had a somewhat subdued nose and a great body with dark fruit and weight and structure just about right. (1624 views)
Tasted by jsebiri on 2/24/2007 & rated 91 points: very tight initially , after about 10 days tried the vaccumed up bottled and it was very pleasant and ready to drink . my sense is that this wine will be relatively long lived. Very pleasurable. (2461 views)

Tasted by wineismylife on 10/14/2006 & rated 90 points: win's 40th Birthday Party (win's house in The Colony, TX): WIML90,WA89,WS90

Tasted October 14, 2006 at win’s 40th birthday party. Served blind in a Riedel restaurant series Bordeaux wine glass. Bag labeled as “Spiders”. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dried herbs, pepper and mixed crushed berries. Flavors of Bing cherries, red berries and maybe some plum. Medium to full acidity and full throttled tannins so this is probably pretty young. Medium body. Seems like it needs more time. Old world, I’m guessing maybe right bank. Could this be the Angelus? COMMENTS: once this bottle was revealed I was somewhat gratified I even got the country right. This wine is made more like a California wine than a traditional Bordeaux in my opinion. (3519 views)
Tasted by win on 10/14/2006 & rated 90 points: Blind Birthday Tasting (Win's House - Texas): Initially guessed it was a California Cabernet Sauvignon with just a little age on it. Boy, was I wrong. 87-92 (Spyders) (3489 views)
