  • Consumed my last bottle, although I think this wine will continue to drink well for years to come. Highly concentrated dark fruit with great balance and silky mouthfeel. Long satisfying finish. Tannins are soft at this point. Paired with venison and wild boar tacos.

  • PnP. Took about 30 minutes to open up and then best after an hour was actually really nice!

Started out 90 points. Then moved up over time.

Last glass the best, wished it would have lasted longer but the poker group guzzled it down. Smiles all around in delight. Last bottle. Certainly at peak and won't improve. Drink em if you got em. Nice work, smooth, balanced, harmonious. Didn't get the 03 heat thankfully. Good job Claude!

  • The surprise of the day! This Merlot is doing fantastically well! Still quite vibrant. If served blind, I would guess it was a 2013. It actually seemed like it needed a decant. Lots of red fruit, milk chocolate, herbal and lively. Hint of black pepper on the finish. Tannins are definitely softer and significantly integrated. This is really the time to drink this. It is not going to get any better. I would say it probably has about five more years before it starts to develop more of an earthy vegetal kind of side. This is what Napa Merlot can accomplish at its height!

  • I haven't tried this wine since 2015 and it's still drinking really well. Highly expressive fruit with velvety mouthfeel and nice finish. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Paired with wood grilled venison pizza.

  • This bottle was very chocolatey and more complex and longer on the palate than the 3/7/15 wine and actually improved over the hour and a half the bottle was opened.
