Mostly Napas and white Burgundies with Washington Winos (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): Dark fruit ripeness. Medium plus body and medium finish. I brought this wine and was happy with it, but it did not reach the nuance or complexity of some of the other Napa wines we enjoyed - and was outclassed by the closer in age Ridge that we enjoyed later. Howard made a very useful comment about tasting the wine on day 2, which I should have done as the 1994 showed better the next day. I just left the 2003 at the restaurant ...

(DOMINUS) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-beautiful dark black French licorice, beautiful integration of ripe young cherry, little cedar box, very concentrated; TASTE-beautiful, enormous amounts of elegance; polished Princess, beautiful ripe fruit (dark cherry), lovely chocolate aspect, heat is perfectly integrated, ripe firm tannins, nice long finish, like a top notch Bordeaux w/ a little CA dreamin', very well made, little cedar box, tobacco & dried shrub aspect; RP-95; GV-94+
