California Cabernet dinner (Annabelle's Kitchen, Calgary): Bright medium red with very thin mahogany rim. This nose is driven by pure red berry fruit. Cranberry to red raspberry. Tangy, athletic. A beautiful youngster. My wine of the night.

Very good but once again very young and talk about making the same mistake again in the sense we had the other bottle of our cellar a few months ago. Rich , polished but also muscular and unless one is a big lover of power and fruit fwdness this will be far to early. What a shame. 93 still but a wine we should have kept for another decade.

Dark, dark red color, black center. On the nose unmistakeable Napa Cabernet; Brambles, leather, a good bit of tannin. On the palate surprisingly fruity, full, soft with a firm backbone of tannin; still not fully evolved. Much new world winemaking at work. On the whole: Over-extracted and too jammy. For me, knowing this wine-maker and past bottlings of this wine: Disappointing.

Unsurprisingly young and brooding and full of rich fruit. But still very pretty and charming and with an elegance coming across even at this very young age for a wine of this level. Dark fruited, well managed oak, good density and proper polished tannin. 93-94 for now but a lot more to come with patience here

(DOMINUS) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-beautiful dark black French licorice, beautiful integration of ripe young cherry, little cedar box, very concentrated; TASTE-beautiful, enormous amounts of elegance; polished Princess, beautiful ripe fruit (dark cherry), lovely chocolate aspect, heat is perfectly integrated, ripe firm tannins, nice long finish, like a top notch Bordeaux w/ a little CA dreamin', very well made, little cedar box, tobacco & dried shrub aspect; RP-95; GV-94+

Rich and complex. Better than the last but the Montrose 2003 was the better wine in the night
