A lovely inky purple color followed by a somewhat stiff nose of red berries and cedar. The mid-palate has real complexity with tar, herbs, earth and a serious tannin structure holding in the rich berry. The finish is long, but with a preponderance of acid.
We very much enjoyed this. One of the few wines that can stand up to a korean BBQ, but it would be great if it had a bit less acidity and some softer tannins. The natural Syrah flavors are abundant and beautifully expressed.
