Few expectations after the last botte was horribly off. This has a strong whiff of VA initially but became increasingly interesting and attractive over two nights with a mixture of dark fruits, camphor and undergrowth on the constantly evolving nose. The palate had an impression of weightiness with rather gruff tannins that only partially subsided. Drink up.

As per my last note. Opulent and very enjoyable; there seems little reason not to enjoy this now, as I agree with BURGUNDY AL, that there appears to be little upside from this point.

Maybe bottle variation or age or my misjudgement, but not seemingly as concentrated or complex as the bottle I had in 2015. On the decline? On the evidence of this bottle NSKELSEY has it spot on (as always). This is a good wine but nowhere near the level indicated by the professional reviewers like Jancis, Tanzer et al. Another aspect of why we love Cellartracker, I guess. A product of the vintage; soft, opulent with nice cherry and strawberry flavours and some stalkiness on the finish. Not for the long haul and not that terroir specific but still lovely, probably a function of the heat of the vintage. Went really well with tarragon chicken.

Green and mean. Stemmageddon. It happens sometimes; have one left and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Dîner After Talich Quartet Concert and Mugneret-Gibourg/ Montille Masterclass (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Rich and very enjoyable, but there is a slightly hollow middle that follows the ripe black fruit start. Certainly easy to enjoy, but I don't see any upside from here.
