  • at this stage pleasant but not impressive. not the velvety, elegant character that I like in Palmer's better vintages

In Christian home at Grandma's 98 birthday! Beautiful Margauxnose. Medium body. Initially fine wine with tannins present. With air and time was got this Margaux a real classic beauty! At the beginning of a longer phase of enjoyment. The wine reflects the origin and vintage on extremely authentic example! 94+/100

  • deilig myk og moden frukt. Fløyel. Crowdpleaser - litt endimensjonal.

  • Drank from split with family at a belated Passover Seder. Very nice nose, very flowery and Margaux-like. Very elegant palate, with berry and tobacco dominating. Good 30 second finish. Really enjoyed.

  • The wine was some shy after opening of the bottle. I was unsure for a second if it was anything wrong, but the wine opend up after some aeration. Aromas of vanilla, blackcurrant and violet. On taste, I think it was fairly "green." Some ackward really. Otherwise taste of black currant, licorice, smoke, and tofee. Relatively integrated oak. You can fine drink the wine now.

(Chateau Palmer Margaux) The assemblage is Merlot 47%, Cabernet Sauvignon 46%, Petit Verdot 7%. Dense, stony and well-delineated fruit on the nose here, restrained but spicy, and overall appealing. This character continues onto the palate which is dry, reserved, with soft fruit showing through the midpalate. Stony, subdued, but with well-covered tannins with a gentle grip and a nice acid structure. Moderate length too. A good style of wine.
