Burgundy WIMPS #170 27th October 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): One of a glorious trio of Chablis on Villa Puycousin. Lime posset and mountain stream minerality from the get-go. Later some candied fruit a la tutti fruiti. With some air both a hint of green pineapple stalk and a couple of drops of the juice too. Palate has incredible line and a lime juice kiss a full 15 seconds after swallowing. My wine of the flight.

bottle consumed over a couple of days. the first day was the best. chalk, citrus and a touch of honey on the nose. palate is rich and good acidity, but the balance is not the one of a grand cru; would have liked more zip. the second day, the wine faded a little. I wonder if my slight disappointment is not about 2010. Had a Raveneau Blanchot and Dauvissat Clos 2010 recently and both wines tasted a little "flabby".

Light to mid yellow-jasmine, the aromas are pretty and floral with apple blossom, lemon, satsuma, mineral, oyster shell, tarragon and almost a hint of white flowers or blossom. An elegant entry with crisp, incisive acidity, linear palate shape, this is a light-mid bodied wine with a dry salty, mineral feel, delicately framed, with chalky, pale and lingering floral/saline notes. Delicious!

A beautiful showing of deep fruit and minerals, honey, mint. Not a blockbuster and not a Grand Cru performance - but for Chablis, more body and amplitude and maybe less chalk.

PnP. Light greenish gold. No premox. Classic Chablis nose but lacking in depth and complexity. Not representative of Clos. Disappointing.
