Dinner with a few Berserkers (Will, Philadephia, PA): On the nose, earthy flinty mineral. Salinity, apple and pear fruit, with shadings of citrus on the palate. Fairly rich with a little cream/nutty note on the finish, but also crisp and salty. On day two the fruit showed more citrusy, mostly grapefruit, and the wine retains its acid and minerals. Very good.
Been some time since I drank Fevre. Of coincidence recently, I opened a 2007 Dauvissat Vaillons from my cellar and really enoyed that wine, so as much as that bottle, I found I liked this Fevre too. Notes from memory, the Fevre here was lemony with good polish on the edges and refreshing, sans any wood intrusion and weight. Very nice.
Tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -translucent pale yellow -moderate sulfur funk less prominent on day 2, citrus dominant -med/med+ acidity, med concentration, mid-palate dominated by citrus and salinity but also an evident ripeness bordering on tropical -excellent, still very fresh and young, improves with some air
