Black cherry and macerated strawberries. Hotter on the palate than I remember, but still a really structured Pinot Noir. Medium body, nice acidity and good, blocky tannins. There is still some life here, maybe three - four years?

Darker and spicer than the Lazarus, but also from 2009. The Lazarus is a touch of press wine and less whole cluster because the idea is to get the wine ready for market.
Winter's hill has been worked with since 2002, right above Stoler. Own rooted but with Phyloxera. Now is probably the point where it is not cost effective.
Eases out in the glass. Bolder or more pronouced on the nose. Sweet strawberry on the palate, tighter and more restrictive, with some tannins present. A quiet wine right now but I would guess will be spectacular in three years. Grippy and intense right now.

Notes from pop & pour and day 2. I like this wine and it's potential quite a bit, but I find it hard to describe. Color and clarity a bit unusual. Light garnet/burgundy color, yet opaque. (Unfiltered?) Floral nose influenced by stems. Medium bodied, yet displays a rich texture. Excellent balance of fruit and acidity with a medium length finish. Mild tannins. Moderate oak. The stem inclusion adds some spice and complexity. This was much more harmonious and open on the second night. Will surely benefit from a few years in the bottle and may show better with a decant today. Similar in style to the 2009 Matello Hommage, but maybe a little richer? Should appeal to those seeking a lighter, less fruit-and-oak-driven dinner companion.

Cranberry, cherry, black tea, pepper. Med body with med+ acidity. Needs time.
