Decanted for 2 hours. Either the year since the last bottle or the longer decant worked well, because this was a serious leap in the "wow" factor compared to the last bottle. Boysenberry, blackberry, cassis, sweet spice, and wet stone dance on the palate. Smooth and long - I need to find more of this.
Consumed over the course of two days; dark purple in color; nose of smoke, black pepper, spice, light chocolate and alcohol; palate was somewhat muted over the entire two days, but some dark fruit, smoke and spice; heavier in weight; firm tannins; while I could not get much out of this, you could tell there was definitely something deep and dark within that was being held down. Possibly closed for business at the moment but could really be something in another couple of years.
