Tart herbaceous apples on the nose. Some hints of the waxy creaminess to come on the palate. Flint smoke. Very rich yet also nice acidity balancing the tremendous depth of rich creamy stone fruit. Really like this wine. A good find.
Very southern Rhone. Herbaceous, spicy, ripe apple and stone fruit. Waxy in aroma and texture. Honeysuckle florality. Big spicy palate. Sufficient acidity to provide vibrancy and lift. Drinking well now.
80%roussanne, 10% viognier, 10%Grenache blanc. Talked about as a baby Beaucastel. Beeswax and honeycomb. At pop and pour the oak comes off a bit overwhelming for my taste, but now 6 hours in there is a killer harmony flowing forth. This back label leads me right into the violets on the palate, but much more intrigue lays with pencil lead and an undercurrent of herb. Damn, first thoughts were, 'slow down baby,' but now i'd say take it to the next level and we're there. Damn fine wine.
