Very nice wine showing a kind of linear power with the red fruit forward and a bit of wood and leather underneath. Spices starting to develop. would hold this one a bit longer before net tasting.

Heidi's Gang: Grand Cru and First Growths (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red ruby red color. PNP I believe, maybe uncorked here an hour plus before pouring. Drank a glass over 2.5 hours. Drank this side by with a stellar trifecta of Grand Cru Burgundies that included a 2008 Trapet Chambertin and a 2010 Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze. What a joy to drink this trio of phenomenal wines together let alone separately. It is indeed a privilege that is not taken for granted. These wines were all stellar in their own right. I thought Meo tonight was more ready to go than a bottle from a few months back. Very suave and sophisticated, offering a splendid nose rivaling the Trapet with such pretty red fruits, red berries first and then cherry with darker nuances mixed about, the exotic spices are front and center with floral overtones, dried wood and hints of anise. The palate is probably the biggest of the three, depth and power aplenty, sappy dark berries, black cherry, dried wood and underbrush with superlative spices and mineral notes. Excellent composure and lift with superb length. Another beauty. 94+ to 95(+)pts.

Dave D's btl on a great night at St Genevieve in Minneapolis. Semi translucent ruby red color. The nose has a lovely bouquet of roses, sous bois, spice, dark berries & more. Then onto a sensuous, luxurious palate w/ sappy dark raspberry, cherry, mineral, Asian spice, forest floor & other subtleties. All amplified by 2010's harmonious balance along w/ suave tannins & excellent lift. Thanks again Dave for bringing another one of these terrific Eche! The btl from 6 months ago overall hit me more than tonight's a& yet, I don't think it was much different? Might be that the last btl came on the night I celebrated my soon to be retirement. Now in the rearview mirror. Still, a great wine, just the same! I was just bit more smitten then but also pumped up about retirement. 95+

tasted blind - smooth, lush fruit though overall a tad flabby. a bit generic with sweet oak. If he didnt know better RJ would have guessed it to be a village vosne. A surprise and disappointment. with better acidity though might have been something. Not showing tonight it appears. Hold.

Craig's Retirement Party (Minikahda Club, Mpls): Dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours. Some sulfur at first, blowing off, and then dark fruits, cedarbox, sawdust, dried flowers, clove based spice, oak, hints of blueberry on the nose. The palate is a little tight, slowly building, showing tart red fruits, with layers of red currants and black raspberry, oak, bold spice notes and a little heat. Impressive depth and energy, will be even better down the road.
