Bought two bottles off the interwebs, one was a total dud. Pours garnet with an orange rim. Loads of spice and funk in the glass, fruity in the background. In the mouth, fully resolved and mid way down the backend of the slope. Complex in the mouth, med-full in the mouth, nots of dried orange, plum, tobacco, spice box, and leather. Long sweet earthy finish. What a surprise... Wow. Drank over 45min. Noted decline.

Huh. No bottles owned and no TNs. I guess I am on this island, for sure. I bought this off Wine Bid for 10 bucks. My history with Hartford was a fond one, having been the first RRV zins that really lit me up, eventually turning into my thirst for Carlisle. This 96 Hartford is showing its age, with lots of secondary development of flavor. I bought 2 so I will consume the other one relatively soon. No longer in the forward camp, tasting like a wine that has matured.
