A beautiful, excellent wine, but not mind-blowing like many other SQN's that I've had. I may have opened it too young and done a disservice by not decanting it. SQN always gets better with age, and I usually give it a little more time in the bottle before opening. (I've been working on my Atlantis and Raven recently.) While it was velvety, seamless and delicious, it didn't wow me to the point where it was paradigm shifting and I had to recalibrate my expectations on how good wine can be. And, while Grenache can be one of the most beautiful varieties when done right, the Grenache didn't shine in this blend. I didn't get as much of the herbs and fresh farmers market bounty I get from some of the best Grenaches. Some of us suspected maybe a higher percentage of Syrah in the mix, and I didn't detect any Viognier which I love in some of Manfred's blends. In any case, thoroughly enjoyable, if not otherworldly or as distinctive as other SQN's I've had.
