  • Deep red center, red rim with no real signs of age.
Sweet, lighter red fruits (raspberries and red currants), then some brambles and butterscotch, creamy and some citrus.
Smooth, plums, a little cassis, cream, balancing acidity and tannin, white chocolate, some herbs, jammy finish.
    Surprisingly good, drinking well now.

  • I don't know about it being "under fruited", but it's definitely not an overly fruity wine. I'd say that it is quite balanced, with some really interesting characters on the nose and palate. On the nose, I get blackberry, smoke, a bit of spice and some pleasant earthiness. It's drinking quite well now, and probably shouldn't be aged too much longer. The tanins are medium and balanced, and I pickup some nice dark fruit with some nice complexity. Don't let the NV turn you off, this is another nice Steven Kent.

  • interesting that this is a NV red. nose - blackberry, oak, soy sauce
mouth - sweet oak, maple, some fruit buried deep down in there, beneath the oak. This wine is a dessert, well posed for the masses. I like Steven Kent's stuff, but this i cant take it too seriously. underfruited.
