End of drinking window. Deep golden straw color. Strong pineapple on the nose. Dry, oak, tastes almost like a Chardonnay. Medium finish with a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste.

Popped and poured. I admit I am not a big Sauv Blanc fan, but this one is very special. This was done in 100% new oak. Dark gold color. Big nose of pineapple with a vanilla presence. Viscous in the glass with cascading tears on the sides. Palate is full and rich with pistachio finish. Very nice indeed drinks like a Chardonnay. Wish I had more.

tasted alongside a Pouilly Fume, and overall less impressed this time. Oxidative notes and an overall fuller body make this less refreshing. Like a SB in chardonnay clothes. Perhaps for cheese or dessert.

I have been drinking NZ SB's of late because the very good CA SB are getting too precious. This Dry Creek SB is the top QPR SB of the year! Soft, florally (not citrusy) on the nose, wonderfully well integrated oak, no bite, silky almost unctious. Maybe not as food friendly as aperitif friendly. Outstanding effort.
