Bright deep gold. Forward apple, lemon and touch of peach and apricot. Palate is well delineated; fruit matches the nose and adds almonds and hazelnuts. Good acidity maintains balance on long finish.

BYOB lunch in Sydney with Chatters. Dave was very generous in bringing along a half dozen of his favourites to share (via Coravin).
What a pleasure to have, first up, this wonderfully ripe and ready first class burgundy. Golden colour with age, buttery and seductive on the nose, well integrated oak and nuts on the palate, and still exhibiting vibrant acidity. IMO, absolutely à point. Lovely. (Thanks Chatters.)

Virtual tasting with Chateau Prieure Lichine (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Oddly this has transformed massively in the last three months - all rich and buttery - though this is probably more to do with the company it was keeping; Le Blanc de Chateau Prieure Lichine and squid ink pasta with crab and tomato. Still had that fresh underpin. Yum.

Cellartracker in the flesh with Stoic Warrior (Donald) (Fix St. James, 111 Elizabeth Street, Sydney): From Coravin. Aromas of butter, a little toffee almost, touch of lemon, also some marzipan, almond and honey as well on the nose. In the mouth it's rich but still has a quite sharp acid line that the citric fruit hangs off. Surprisingly splendid with oysters.
