  While lost in an over the top evening of rare Italian wines, it held up fairly well. Long decant helped and I shouldn’t wait long on my remaining bottles. Floral and earthy, cherry notes, but lacking depth

  Rose petal and tar on the nose. On the palate, dried cherry and strawberry with notes of anise, leather, and black tea, with light tannins and moderate acidity on the medium to long finish. This seemed very advanced compared to what others are reporting here, which may reflect bottle variation. This was a very good to excellent value at the $60 I paid for it; at the $90+ value later vintages are selling for, it would be an average value.

  Immer noch starke Säure. Solider. Aber kann mit den Conternos nicht mithalten.
