  Rumors of this wine’s death are greatly exaggerated. My bottle had been very well stored. It was certainly mature and might have been better a year or two ago. I see no reason to hold it further. But it was smooth and still had fruit. Don’t despair, but do drink up. Enjoy.

  I am sad (and surprised) to say that this wine was way over the hill. Oxidized and sherry notes. Undrinkable.

  I was "shut down" in a discussion of great CA Chardonnays because I had not tried any of the Marcassins. I begged to differ, and I have never been happier to say how wrong I was. THIS is epic Chardonnay. Spouse agrees (although she doesn't know the price point). I have now been ruined. I guess my kids can go to a Community College. So special in so many ways. Lots of life ahead, but why take the chance. Great now, likely to be great for another 10 years.
