Nose of black cherry, raspberry, mint, and a touch of bresola. Strong, focused, and long-lasting palate with dry raspberry fruit, minerals, apple acidity, and ash. Wide swath of resolved tannins, sun-baked earth, light leather, and gently oak underpinned with acidity. The finish is also long-lasting. This wine is holding up well.

My last bottle of any of the York Creek bottlings. As much as I have disparaged Yorks over the years, I’m sorry to see this bottling go. Every bottle has been stellar. A youthful purple from the core to the rim makes for a beautiful glass. Rhubarb out the whazoo on the nose along with cherry, molasses, Asian 5 spice and dusty rose. More - much more - on the palate where the cherry and rhubarb interplay to weave a rich fabric. Licorice and mocha on the finish lift the wine to heights prior Yorks only hoped to achieve. The finish lingers. A very complete wine with balance, length and poise. Very little sediment. Comprised from a blend of 93% Zin and 7% Petite Sirah. 14.7% alc. With pork spareribs. Recommended with a nod toward Highly Recommended.

Amazing how well the Ridge Zins hold up. Beautiful structure - still fruity, and nicely balanced acid.
It smells like dark berry fruit, and tastes like dark cherry with a lite dust. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture, with a medium length finish.

Full black fruit aromas. Dry gingerbread aromas, plum, medium tannin, medium is acid, lots of life to go.
