Nose was fruit as was taste...for a pinot noir a little more ripe tasting fruit than I expected but decent for a weekday drink. Upping rating after tasting after a few hours. Fruit is still prominent, not surprising given this is a central coast. But nice finish and some vanilla and silkiness

I'm putting this on the low end of the OK scale. Drinkable but don't if you have another choice. Picked up on sale in the grocery store for $11. Taste like I paid $11. Nose - Green and Tight. Think it's way too young. Can only get better, but probably not much... Taste - Some red fruit, cherry/raspberry --- Not overly fruity, but not overly anything really. Balanced to the finish. Fairly oaked. Silky with no bite. Summary - Lacks all character that a decent pinot should possess.
Their discription:
"Our Sterling Vintner's Collection Pinot Noir has silky cherry, plum, and rose character from grapes grown in cool Monterey County. Vibrant acidity balances the focused fruit flavors, and ten months of aging in French oak gave this wine charming vanilla nuances."

Very good Pinot for the price. Fruity with a light smokey taste that pairs well with lighter food dishes. Good party wine...
