I think partially flawed or just to0 old in bottle with some oxidation happening...initial nose/palate comes off a little port-like. I had this for dinner years ago, was darn good and was given a bottle as gift...I would not keep this any longer thats for sure.
After the port like notes, decent and tasty soft, dark, a little juicy fruit with a ?violet quality on finish... Medium/long finish. I can buy the '10 for about 25$ CAN and will seek some out for cellar.
