  • Cold decanted 2 hours, and drank over 2 more. When its colder ~50F out of the ice bucket, the nose feels of a thick glass of freshly blended white nectarine/pear juice with a sprig of mint and white flower petals. As it warms closer to ~60F, the aromas move to river rocks grinded into a jar of lemon confit. Oaky caramel is slowly drizzled onto this dessert concoction as the glass warms up further until the dessert completes at room temperature.

The palate brings layers of acidity as though you were chewing through a fresh, juicy lemon wedge. Decadent and fleshy lemon meat on the front of the palate, and more oily expressed lemon peel towards the mid palate. The liquid tingles the throat as it goes down like a sip of fresh lemonade. The finish is a long, voluptuous lime creme brulee with a kiss of oak that fills the mouth long after the liquid has been ingested.

This is a sharp and accented glass of wine with a big personality. I had a lot of fun drinking this as a digestif after a heavy meal. More time in bottle will smooth the edges, but I personally really enjoy this young, vibrant energy. This can easily age for another 10+.

  • Whereas some 2010 White Burgundy (originally hailed as a top vintage) outside of the super upper echelon is overly advancing and dying to be drunk, 2010 PYCM Genevrieres has many years ahead. It needed a great deal of air before it could strut its stuff, but when it got there, that’s just what it did. A sufficient decant unleashes its core with killer yellow fruit intensity, white flowers, smoky minerals, hazelnuts and toasty oak. The palate becomes equally as intense with superb weight, a stunningly luxurious texture and a persistent and powerful finish. PYCM at its finest, but with an exceptional and lengthy future for 2010 Genevrieres.

  • PnP. A 95+ multi-dimensions layered bouquet with initial reduction (the positive impact) and mineral slowly evolved into floral, and stone fruits. The palate gained intensity with some aeration and temperature. Very fine acidity. This bottle can have a good neck-to-neck fight with THE benchmark Coche Dury Meursault village.
