77/18 Cab/Merlot/rest blending. Nose not showy, pleasant, black fruit, roses, fresh herbs. Palate shows more strength, but still balanced, elegant, smooth. Tannins medium plus, acidity medium. Solid offering, I like the Jordans with more age, hold if you can.
Paired with grilled ribeyes. Reddish purple color. Medium bodied wine with notes of red currants and cherries. Fairly consistent quality compared to the other vintages of this wine I have had. This fell in the middle of the pack among the 1982, 1985 and 2002. 89-90 points.
At Jordan Wine Dinner, Taj Campton Place, San Francisco. Nice, dark garnet color. Floral nose of candied red fruit and spices. Medium-bodied, bringing some dark and red fruit into a nice, supple finish. Old-world style. On the finish, tasted a streak of burned wood and smoke from the CA fires that summer. Winemaker verified this.
