  • As always, this is stunning. Priced like a Grand Cru and tasting like one. Luxury oak. Sweet, stemmy, marvelous fruit. Lalou is the best.

  • Wow!
This is what great Bourgogne is all about.
Doubtless the finest Beauxmonts I’ve had the pleasure to drink up until now.
The finest (together with a few DRC bottling) 2009 Burgundy I have had, by far.
No signs of the vintage present, but a lovely and subtle wine.
Nose shows intriguing spices, expensive and subtle oak, stems, floral and sexy.
    Oozing with finesse and class.
On the palate this is just as good as on the nose.
A rather full-bodied wine, especially for a Bourgogne, but such perfectly balanced, so there is no heaviness or brutal force present, only a perfectly made grand vin!
The fruit is expensive, sensual and incredibly long and complex.
Sweet and ripe, spicy and deep, but still with an amazing acidity in the background to balance this package.
A pleasure to drink, even if this is still very young.
My only bottle, but I might actually (despite the price tag) have to re-stock.
96 points for now = extraordinary, but it will reach even higher with a few more years on it's back, of that I’m sure!
My wine of the night in a 14 bottles tasting of all 14 Vosne 1:er Cru's.
    (95 - 97+)

  • This is quite a thrilling wine, its voluminous, sensual but balanced and light on its feet. Fruits are silky and dark and there’s an engaging thread of floral spice, it is incredibly long.

  • Domaine Leroy Cellar Visit and Tasting (Vosne-Romanee): Barrel tasting at Domaine Leroy. Aromas started with great floral and perfumed charm along with big red fruit. Palate is very spice driven with great black and red fruit. Incredible density, powerful fruit with an exceptional finish. Always a personal favorite, this 2009 jumps near the top of my list of great vintages of Leroy V-R Beaux Monts, with 98, 99 and 93.
