Dense and intense dark fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Powerful and masculine. Not much finesse but loads of complexity. Like other Leroy 09s, this needs so much time but the density of material suggests it will be brilliant. I hope to try again in 10years.

We gave it more breath this time. Bay berry, berry, red berry, forest, little smoke. good acidity. Tannin is fine and silky. Big body gave us mouth coating and smooth feeling. Body is a little bit lighter compare to the last time.

Didn't give it enough aeration, but still, complex red and purple fruit. also mushroom and forest. Pronounced flavor intensity, very rich, ripe, deep, large scaled, mouth coating and powerful. velvety tanning. 03461/6546

This is not drinkable today due to the powerful tannins, so don’t even think about opening a bottle for a while. Much lighter fruit and musky elements compared to other 2009 Leroy and more austere. Mineral spice and musky notes in abundance. Very tannic, and in need of extended cellaring (10+ years). 96+ potential when it’s ready.

Deep ruby colour. Dark cherries, spices, very aromatic, firm tannins, great structure and very intense. One of the greatest Clos de Vougeot I have ever tasted. Outstanding achievement for 2009 Domaine Leroy!
