Decanted and showing heavy sediment in bottle. Aromas show the age and maturity of this wine revealing scents of stewed strawberry, fruit leather, and oxidized dried cherry fruits along with notes of toasted fennel and black licorice, dried violets, blood orange zest, tamarind paste and hints of earth and leather. The palate reveals this wine is sadly past its prime.Time drink now! Fruit notes on the palate are a combination of dried and stewed. This wine has shed a lot of its complexity. Aside from the reduced fruits there are notes of black licorice, tamarind, dried violets and hibiscus, dried orange zest and toffee. The tannins are plush and moderate to moderate plus. Acidity is medium and Alcohol is, yes still, off the charts. The brooding finish lingers.

Big bold Lodi Zin! Decanted for 30 minutes, and it continued to open with time. The color is ink dark with crimson edges. Little to no light showing through. The nose starts strong with star anise, caramel, vanilla and crushed black fruit. The alcohol comes through as well. The palate follows very similar with oak, spice, black cherry, and black licorice. It coats the palate and is lush and silky. This wine is best alone, or with something big like bbq. I made a creamy sundried tomato Tuscan chicken, and it paired well. Cheers!

Our last bottle of the very full flavor Zin. This wine continues to still have a nice full flavor. Nice black cherry, cinnamon, blackberry. Sorry this is our last bottle.
